The British Doctors and Dentists Group founded in 1973 by two doctors recovering from alcoholism. In 1977 dentists were invited to attend the discussion and support groups.
Regional Groups are based in: London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Durham, Bristol, Birmingham, Northampton, Hampshire and Northern Ireland.
These groups hold regular monthly meetings and an annual conference. There are now International links set up with sister groups based abroad.
The groups offer support, advice and open discussion on alcohol and drug related problems within the professions. Confidentiality is assured. Any concerned person i.e. the individual with the problem or colleague or family member should:
